From East Linton (by car/bike): drive north up the High Street and turn right onto Preston Road; go past the turnoff to Smeaton, Preston Mill and the kirk and, after a chicane, take a left where signposted for Newbyth and Binning Wood.  Drive for about 2 miles, past Binning Wood and past the turnoff for the Old Mansion House and Newbyth Stables, continue up the hill and turn left before you get to the top of the hill (unmarked).  Will lead you in a little road , take the first left, which will give you two options - the right hand option is for Newbyth Garden Cottage.  You may have to open the gate to get into the driveway.

From North Berwick (by car): Follow East Road and then Dunbar Road past the rugby pitches until you reach a mini roundabout - bear right and go up a steep hill (the Heugh) and follow that road for 2.5 or 3 miles then the road will continue with a 90 degree left turn, then a bit later a 90 degree right turn. Shortly after that, at the next corner, turn onto a smaller road to the right (you will go past a house with lots of Suzuki 4x4s.  At the end of that road turn left, then right in about 100m, down a steep hill - turn right after about 100 m. This will lead you in a little road , take the first left, which will give you two options - the right hand option is for Newbyth Garden Cottage. You may have to open the gate to get into the driveway.
